Meadow Creation on a Field Scale
Our meadow creation work runs well beyond garden scale — species-rich grassland established across paddocks, parkland and farmland, measured in acres and hectares rather than square metres. The method changes with the scale: seed harvested from local donor sites or a certified native mix, ground preparation matched to the existing sward, and a cutting and removal regime over the following years to strip fertility and let the wildflowers win.
Species-rich grassland scores well in biodiversity net gain assessments, so meadow is often part of a wider habitat management scheme. It also needs committed long-term management to hold its condition — which our grounds and estate maintenance team provides.
