WEST HORSLEY, SURREY
SLATE AND STEEL GARDEN
Build Time
9 Weeks
This garden was designed to marry the natural with the modern. Slate walling was used to create a unique sunken seating area with bespoke bee mosaics inlaid into the floor.
Industrial Corten-steel water features were used to add a contemporary edge. This mix of styles is also reflected in the planting.
Large swathes of Wildflower Turf blend into a contemporary cottage/prairie planting scheme to create a striking, yet low maintenance garden. The specific slate walling was chosen for its orange hues and this colour is picked up through the Corten features and the perennial planting.
Since completion of the back garden in 2021, our clients commissioned us to create a new front garden planting design in the Autum of 2022 using wildflower and contemporary cottage planting.
In 2024 we were again asked to create a new winding hardstanding pathway featuring slate breaks and 3 more invertebrate mosaics.
