The pond was laid out to maximise bird viewing from both the house and the garden office. Around the pond a naturalistic planting scheme was chosen to offer pollinating opportunities for insects and a plant understorey for amphibians to hide in. Rustic sleepers create a large framing archway towards the woodland area. The strong arches also double as a hammock fixing point for relaxed pond viewing. Native Enriched wildflower turf has been used to create a beautiful and low maintenance habitat for wildlife.
