Our client asked us to design and build and bike workshop to store up to 6 bikes with space to work on them. The client also wanted some traditional shed/storage space to store general gardening equipment separated from the workshop area. The client also wanted to maximise the roof and use the space create a green roof.
As accredited installers of wildflower turf products we recommend using a native enriched wildflower turf to give a beautiful and wildlife friendly edge to this design.
The client was also keen to use sustainable and reclaimed materials in the design. We sourced all the doors and windows from a local house renovation saving them from a skip. The clients had also saved the wood from their old teak porch that had been replaced almost 20 years previously. We restored the old teak planks to a state suitable to craft into trims and windows sills for the whole building. We also fashioned a new doorstep from the teak planks as the oak door sets sill had been broken whilst being removed from its previous home.
