This expansive and flat plot created challenges for our designs. We were trying to create secluded areas to enlarge the space and to give different views of the garden. Our client gave us the freedom to let our imaginations run wild, which allowed us to produce this one-off garden.
This garden was designed to marry the natural with the modern. Slate walling was used to create a unique sunken seating area with bespoke bee mosaics inlaid into the floor Industrial Corten-steel water features were used to add a contemporary edge. This mix of styles is also reflected in the planting. Large swathes of Wildflower Turf blend into a contemporary cottage/prairie planting scheme to create a striking, yet low maintenance garden. The specific slate walling was chosen for its orange hues and this colour is picked up through the Corten features and the perennial planting.
